Kam. 96ᵇ ש׳ ועבדינהו חדתי (Ms. M. שחמי) if the coins were black (tarnished), and he (who stole them) made them look new again; חדתי ועבדינהו ש׳ if they were new, and he made them black. Ab. Zar. 33ᵇ הני חצבי ש׳ וכ׳ the jugs of gentiles made of dark clay. Ḥull. 55ᵇ משיכלי שחי׳ Ms. M. (Ar. שחמי, ed. שיחומי) dark-glazed basins, opp. חיורי (opin. quoted in Rashi: bronze basins).
