רַקַּת רַקַּת, (b. h.) pr. n. pl. Rakkath, a fortified town of Naftali. Meg. 6ᵃ ר׳ זו ציפורי … כרקתא וכ׳ R. is Sepphoris, and its name was Rakkath, because it lies high like the banks of a river. Ib. ר׳ זו טבריא R. is Tiberias. Ib. איכא … ר׳ לאו טבריא היא וכ׳ is there any one that can say, R. is not Tiberias? when one dies here (in Babylonia), do they not eulogize him there in (Tiberias): גרול הוא בששך ושם לו בר׳ he was great in Sheshakh (Babylonia), and had a name in Rakkath?
