VIII, 30) ואית … אמון ר׳ and some say, amon means the capital; אמון ר׳ כמה וכ׳ amon means capital, as we read (Nah. l. c.), ‘art thou better than No Amon? which is translated, האת … ר׳ וכ׳ art thou better than Alexandria, the capital?
