קַסְטְרָא, קַסְטְרָה f. (castra, pl.) 1) fortification, military camp. B. Kam. 98ᵃ היו לו מעות בק׳ או וכ׳ if one has money deposited in the (Roman) camp or in the (forts of the) king’s Mountain. Num. R. s. 12 (expl. מצודתי, Ps. XCI, 2) ק׳ דירי my fortification; Midr. Till. to Ps. l. c. (not קסטרי). Lam. R. to III, 7 זה ק׳ של פרסיין (read: רומיים) this alludes to the camp of the Romans; Yalk. ib. 1037 קנטרה (corr. acc.). Deut. R. s. 1 (expl. נציבים, II Sam. VIII, 6) ק׳ (not קסטרס); a. e.—Pl. קַסְטְרָאוֹת, קַסְטְרָיוֹת. Tosef. Ohol. XVIII, 12 הק׳ והלגיונות the dwellings in forts and in the (camps of the) legions. Lev.
