קָדֵשׁ, [cut off, rejected, cmp. חרם] sodomite. Sifré Deut. 260 ק׳ חמור the sodomite whose crime is the severer one (v. infra).—Pl. קְדֵשִׁים. Esth. R. to I, 9 (expl. מעולל, Is. III, 12) ק׳ בהון sodomites were among them (with ref. to ויתעללו, Jud. XIX, 25).—Fem. קְדֵשָׁה prostitute. Sifré l. c. ק׳ קלה the Ḳ’deshah whose crime is a minor one (compared with that of the Ḳadesh).
