פִּיד m. (פדר; cmp. פְּדַע) 1) picking of chickens. Ab. Zar. 4ᵃ (ref. to פידו, Job XXX, 24) אני נפרע מהן כפ׳ של תרנגולת I will collect from them (punish them) as the chicken picks (in small instalments); ib. אפי׳ אין ישראל … מעט כפ׳ של תרנגולין וכ׳ even if Israel do but small good deeds, as the picking of chickens in the dunghill, I will combine them into one large sum; Yalk.
