Ib. כעיקר (corr. acc.).—Esp. ע׳ סימנים, or ע׳ tearing loose the windpipe and gullet before cutting, looseness of &c. (v. סִימָן). Ḥull. 44ᵃ. Ib. 9ᵃ; 27ᵃ; a. fr.—3) mutilation, hamstringing; unfitting. Ab. Zar. 11ᵃ ע׳ שיש בו טריפה a mutilation which affects the vitality of the animal; ואיזהו ע׳ שאין וכ׳ and what mutilation does not affect &c.?, v. נָשַׁר; ib. 13ᵃ; Tosef. Sabb. VII (VIII), 20; a. fr.—Bekh. 53ᵃ; Yoma 66ᵃ, a. e. (ref. to בהמה תיעקר, ib.) ואי זה הוא ע׳ נועל וכ׳ what kind of ʿiḳḳur is meant?
