סִירָה, refuse, foul matter.— Pl. סִירוֹת. Midr. Till. to Ps. II, beg. מה הים הזה כל סִירוֹתָיו על פיו כך סִירוֹתֵיהֶם וכ׳ as all the refuse of the sea is on its mouth (shore), so the foulness of the wicked is in their mouths; Yalk. Is. 350. Yalk. Num. 771 מה הנהר שוטף את הס׳ וכ׳ as the river carries off the refuse, so does the Day of Atonement &c.
