נוּז, (cmp. לוּז) to twist, twine; to weave. Part. pass. נוּז. Kil. IX, 8 (expl. ש̇ע̇ט̇נ̇ז̇) דבר שהוא ש̇וע̇ ט̇ווי ונ̇וז̇ a substance (of wool and linen) which is hackled and fulled, or spun, or twined (R. S. woven); Sifré Deut. 232; Yeb. 5ᵇ; a. e.—Nidd. 61ᵇ עד שיהא שוע טווי ונ׳ until it is fulled and spun and twisted (or woven).—Y. Kil. IX, end, 32ᵈ הוון אמרינן הא לָנוֹז מותר we might have thought, but to twist (wool and linen) is permitted.
