נְבָיָיה, (נָבָא) sproutings, leaves and flowers. Ab. Zar. III, 8 (48ᵇ) מפני שהנ׳ נושרת עליהן וכ׳ Y. a. Bab. ed. (Mish. הנְמָיָיה, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 6) because the foliage of the Asherah drops on them &c., v. זֶבֶל. Ib. 48ᵇ מה שמשׁביח בנ׳ וכ׳ the benefit conferred upon a plant by its foliage, is neutralized by the disadvantage of the shade. Meïl. III, 8 (14ᵃ) לא בשיפויי ולא בנ׳ Rashi (Bab. ed. נְבָיָיא; Mish. נְוָיָה) neither by using the shavings nor by using the sproutings (twigs &c. of the dedicated tree); Tem. 31ᵇ שפויי ונ׳ Rashi (ed. נִיבָא); Tosef.
