מַשֶּׁהוּ, (tradit. pronunc. מַשְׁהוּ) m. (= מַה שֶׁהוּ, v. הוּא) anything, the least portion, minimum. Targ. Y. Num. XXXV, 16.—Sifré Num. 160 הברזל ממית במשהוא an iron weapon may wound fatally, be it ever so small of size. Pes. 11ᵇ שעה ומ׳ an hour and a fraction of an hour. Ḥull. 102ᵇ במ׳ when one eats ever so little of it, opp. בכזית; (ib. top בכל שהוא). Ib. במ׳ בשר וכ׳ when one eats a little of each, flesh, sinews and bones (so as to make up the size of an olive when combined); a. v. fr.—Pl. מַשְּׁהוּיִין. Erub. 87ᵃ ושני מ׳ and two fractions, i.e. ten and a fraction high, and two and a fraction wide.
