*מַסֵּכָה III, (homiletic play, = מַסֵּי כָה, v. אֲסִי) thus healing. Ex. R. s. 42, end [read:] לשון סורסי הוא … כך אני מרפא אותן וכ׳ (v. סוּרְסִי) it is a contraction; the Lord says, ‘Shall I thus cure them?’, as we read (Ex. XXXII, 8—9): ‘They have made themselves a molten calf’ … ‘and the Lord said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiffnecked people’ (i.e. it is incurable).
