מְכֵרוֹת

מְכֵרוֹת, (מָכַר) sales, trnsf. m. (cmp. לְקוּחוֹת) seller. Gen. R. s. 98 (ref. to Gen. XLIX, 6 מְכֵרֹת־) for whom are those weapons fit? למְכֵרוֹתֵיהֶן וכ׳ to their seller, to Esau who sold the birth-right (to their father).
מְכֵרוֹת, (= מְכֹרוֹת, fr. נָכַר, cmp. מַכָּר) friendship, neighborhood, neighbors. Tanḥ. Vayḥi 9; Gen. R. s. 99 (ref. to Gen. l. c.) וי"א מכרותיהם מגורותיהם וכ׳ (ed. Wil. מְכוֹר׳) and some say m’kherothehem, means their neighborhoods (ed. Wil.: and some say, read it m’khorothehen) as we read (Ez. XVI, 3) &c.—V. מְכֵירִין
