חֲרוֹכָא, (חֲרַךְ) burned, charred meat. Bets. 32ᵇ ואזדהר מח׳ but guard against its becoming charred (by touching a solid object in the oven). Pes. 41ᵃ דשוייה ח׳ Ms. M. (ed. דשויא) he made (the Passover lamb) charred meat (instead of roast). Zeb. 106ᵃ; Yoma 68ᵇ דשויא ח׳ if it has been reduced to lumps of charred flesh (instead of being burnt to ashes), v. נָתַךְ.—B. Mets. 85ᵃ they surnamed R. Zeira ח׳ קטיו שקיה Ms. M. (ed. קטין חֲרִיךְ ש׳) the burnt one with dwarfed legs: Snh. 37ᵃ חֲרִיכָא (early prints חרו׳); (Ber. 46ᵃ קטינא חריך שקי).—[Lam.
