חֲנָמַל, (b. h.) beetle, prob. a species of locusts. Yalk. Ex. 185, quot. fr. Tanḥ. (ed. Bub., Vaëra 19) כח׳ הזה היה יורד the hail came down formed like the ḥănâmal, as it says (Ps. LXXVIII, 47) &c.—Midr. Till. to Ps. l. c., v. חָנָה.
