חִנָּם, gratuitous act, favor, mostly adv. בח׳, לח׳, על ח׳ gratuitously; for no reason. Ex. R. s. 41 על ח׳ בראתני וכ׳ hast thou created me for no purpose?—B. Kam. 92ᵇ, a. e., v. זַרְזִיר. Ex.
