חֲנִיסְנְסַיָּא, obscene statutary devoted to the Sun (h. חַמָּנִים). Targ. O. Lev. XXVI, 30. Targ. Ezek. VI, 4; 6. Targ. Is. XVII, 8; a. e. [In various ed. our w. is written חניס נ׳ in two words, also חֲנִיסְסַיָּא. Our w. seems to be a derivative of a stem חסס, with anorganic נ, having the meaning of nakedness, shame.
