זָגֵיד, (v. preced., cmp. אפרקד) in a brooding position. Ḥull. 62ᵇ מרדו ז׳ ואכיל (Rashi מרה) mardu broodingand eating (name of a bird, prob. an adaptation of a foreign word), contrad. to סגיד ואכיל kneeling down and eating (like a bird of prey). [R.
