זָג, pl. זַגִּים, זַגִּין (cmp. דכך) pomace of grapes, husks or kernels and flesh. Naz. VI, 2 (34ᵇ) חרצנים … הז׳ אלו הפנימיםḥartsannim (Num. VI, 4) means the exterior, zaggim the interior; (ib. contrary opinion, v. זוֹג).—Tosef. Toh. III, 1 הגפן והזוּגִּין וכ׳ ed. Zuck. (oth. ed. זַגִּין; some ed. זומין, corr. acc.) the grape vine (clusters) and the pomace which have been treated in cleanness. Sabb. IV, 1.—Naz. l. c. זַגָּן Mish. (Y. ed. זגין, Bab. ed. זג; Tosef. ib. IV, 2 זגא ed. Zuck., Var. זג) the husk (or the interior) of one berry.
