הַעֲרָבָה f. (denom. of עֶרֶב) 1) going home in the evening from labor (= הַכְנָסָה), opp. to הַשְׁכָּמָה. Y. B. Mets. VII, beg. 11ᵇ [read:] שתהא השכמה משל בעה"ב וה׳ משל פועלין that the time needed for going out &c., v. הוֹצָאָה 4). Ib. (not ערבית) ובערבי שבתות בין … ה׳ וכ׳ on Sabbath eves both are deducted from the employer’s time. —2) night work. Lev. R. s. 19; Midr. Sam. ch.
