דָּֽרְבָן m. (b. h.; a contr. of דברברן , v. דְּבַר) [leader,] goad, the iron point on the staff (מַלְמֵד); also the spud at the end of the handle of the ploughshare (v. Sm. Ant. s. vv. Aratrum a Catrinos). Ḥag. 3ᵇ מה ד׳ זה וכ׳ as the goad directs the cow &c. Kel. IX, 6 מלמד שבלע הד׳ a goad (handle) in which the iron point was driven in so that nothing could be seen of it. Ib.
