גְּמַשׁ, (cmp. כמש) to contract, bend. Yoma 67ᵃ Ms. M. 2 (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 20) זימנין דגְמִישׁ רישיה ולא חזי ליה sometimes the animal’s head (in falling) is bent, and he (the man) cannot see the chord.
