*בְּעִיץ II, (part. pass. of a verb בעץ, denom. of בעצא) tinned, wrapt in tin-foil. Targ. Jer. XXXII, 11 (a. 14, in some ed.) כתיב ב׳ וחתים written, wrapt in tinfoil and tied up (v. חתם) with a seal, opp. to שטרא פתיחא.
