אֶמְצַע, (v. מְצַע; √מץ; cmp. b. h. תָּוֶךְ, תֹּךְ, תְּכָכִים) [lying in a press], whence—בא׳ in the centre, between two extremes. Y. Ḥag. II, 77ᵃ bot. יהלך בא׳ he must walk between the extremes. B. Mets. 70ᵇ יד הנכרי בא׳; Y. Ab. Zar. I, 40ᵃ top אצבע הגוי בא׳ the hand [finger] of the gentile is between, i.e. he has a share in it; a. fr.—2) common fund, estate. B. Bath.
