תִּמֵּד, to put water on pomace or lees. Maasr. V, 6 המְתַמֵּד … ומצא כדי מדתו וכ׳ if one makes pomace wine, putting water on by measure, and finds (after pressing) the same quantity, he is exempt from giving tithes; Pes. 42ᵇ, v. רְוָוקָא II. B. Bath. 97ᵃ שתִּמְּדוּ במי גשמים (Ms. R. שתִּמְּדָן) when they used rain water to make tamad; Ḥull. 87ᵇ (by analogy from B. Bath. l. c.) שתמדו במי וכ׳ (Ms. R. שתמדן) when they diluted blood with rain water.
