They traced the outlines on the skins (marked out the shape in which they were to be cut, v. שִׁירְטוּט). Ib. top [read:] מה צביעה … שהיו משרטטין בעורות what painting was done at the preparation of the Tabernacle? They marked the skins (with a coloring substance); [the following אלים מאדמים ought to be preceded by עורות, as the catchword to the subsequent discussion, v. Tosef. ib. VIII, 23].—Part. pass. מְשׁוּרְטָט; f. מְשׁוּרְטֶטֶת. Men. 32ᵇ מזוזה שאינה מש׳ a door post inscription which is not written on ruled parchment.
