שִׁינּוּן, (שָׁנַן) diligent teaching, memorizing. Sifré Deut. 34 (ref. to Deut. VI, 7) אלו בש׳ וכ׳ these words must be memorized (by the children), but the passages (Ex. XIII, 1—10; 11—16) need not be memorized; ib. אינו דין שיהו בש׳ is it not a logical conclusion that they must be memorized?; Yalk. ib. 841.
