שׁוּדָא שׁוּדָא, (contr. of שׁוּחֲדָא q. v.) adjudication, discretionary judgment. Gitt. 14ᵇ וכאן אמרו ש׳ עדיף and here (in Babylonia) they say, it is better that the messenger use his discretion (to deliver the gift to the heir of the legatee or return it to the donor’s heirs).
