קִרְטֵם, (Parel of קָטַם) to pluck, lop. Maasr. III, 9 מְקַרְטֵם עלה וכ׳ he may pluck leaf by leaf and eat (without tithing); Y. ib. 50ᶜ; Y. B. Kam. II, 3ᵃ top וקִירְטְמוּ החילפין and they (the chickens) ruined the young shoots; (Tosef. ib. II, 1 וקִיטְּמוּ). Y’lamd. to Num. XXII, 4 quot. in Ar. כל בהמה מְקַרְטֶמֶת אחד אחד וכ׳ any other beast on pasture plucks one part of the field after the other, but the ox &c.
