קַמְצוּץ, (קָמַץ) compressed condition, bent up, doubled. Y. Naz. IX, 57ᵈ אם מצאו ק׳ וכ׳ if one finds a corpse, in the ground, doubled, we say, debris fell upon him, opp. פשוט. Ib. [read:] סברין מימר ראשיהם בצד מרגלותיהם זהו ק׳ they thought ‘their head beside their feet’ (of corpses found in the ground) meant ḳamtsuts (that each body’s head was lying by its feet). Y. Pes. VII, 34ᵈ קַמְצִיץ. Y. Maas. Sh. V, beg. 55ᵈ מת ק׳ היה נתון וכ׳ (not קמצון) a doubled (mangled) body is under it (i.e. a mangled body was found there, and a mark was put over it); Y. Sot.
