צִיר I, (צוּר; cmp. זוּרְיוֹן, זַיָּירָא) juice, brine. Sifra Sh’mini, ch. IV, Par. 3 (ref. to Lev. XI, 12) שקץ לאסור את צִירָן ורוטבן וכ׳ ‘abomination’ is used to imply the prohibition of their brine or soup &c. Ib. לאסור צִירָם ורוטבם. Ab. Zar.
