צִיפְתָּא צִיפְתָּא, = צִיפָּא II, matting, mat.—[Targ. Y. II, Deut. XXXII, 9 בצ׳ ed. Vien., read: בפִיצְּתָא.]—Sabb. 140ᵇ בר … אצ׳ חדתא וכ׳ a student at the school house should not sit down on new matting, because it ruins the garments. Ned. 50ᵃ top דלי לצ׳ וכ׳ he lifted up the mat (on which he had been sitting), and said &c. Kidd. 12ᵇ צ׳ דאסא a braid of myrtle twigs (worth less than a P’ruṭah).
