צִיפָּא II, the fleshy covering of date-stones. Ḥull. 50ᵇ כגון … בצ׳ בדוחקא בלא צ׳ וכ׳ when three date-stones can pass the opening, by force with the covering on them, and easily without the covering.
צִיפָּא II, reed-mat.— Pl. צִיפֵּי or צֵיפֵי. Ber. 25ᵃ חזו הני צ׳ דבי רב וכ׳ look at the mats in the school house, some sleep thereon, while others are studying. B. Bath. 8ᵇ צ׳ דבי וכ׳ the mats in the synagogue.—[Kidd. 45ᵃ תותי צ׳ under mats spread over their heads, v. preced.]
