צִיל, (v. צְלַל) to be clear. Part. צָיֵיל, צִיל, צָאֵיל. Sabb. 66ᵇ כי היכי דציל הא מישחא לֵיצִיל וכ׳ as this oil is clear, so may the wine of—be clear (that our minds may not be affected by the wine); ib. כי היכי דצִילָא האי שיעתא ליציל וכ׳ Ms. M. (ed. דליציל האי שיעא read: דציל; Ms. O. דצאיל) as this sealing clay is bright, so may the wine &c. Ib. 75ᵃ, v. צֶבַע ch. Erub. 64ᵃ לא צילא דעתאי Ms. M. (ed. צִילָאִי; Yalk. Noah Ms. צָאִילְנָא; v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 70) my mind is not clear (I am not clear in my mind). Pes. 110ᵇ הוה צייל וכ׳ he remained clear in his mind, and was on his guard. Sabb. 23ᵃ ציל נהוריה טפי Ms. M. (ed. צליל) its light is brighter. Ḥull. 55ᵇ דצִילֵי when the fluid in the ulcers is clear, opp. עכירי.
