צִיבְּתָא, = צִיבָּא II, chips, twigs &c. Sabb. 139ᵇ לא ניהדק אינש צ׳ וכ׳ Ar. (Ms. O. צִבָּאתָא; ed. צינייתא, read: צִיבְיָיתָא; v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 60) one must not stuff chips into the mouth of a jug (to let wine run through them). Ḥull. 67ᵃ לא לשפי … בצבתא וכ׳ Ms. M. a. Ar. (ed. בצבייתא) one must not pour date-beer through chips &c. Ib. 105ᵇ משום ציבתא (Ms. M. צִיבְוָותָא, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) on account of the chips (floating on top). Ab. Zar. 75ᵇ top דצ׳ bands made of shavings; Tam. 30ᵃ. Succ. 29ᵃ a wind blew וקא מייתי ציבותא (Ms. M. 1 ציבייתא; Ms. M. 2 ציוותא, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) and caused twigs and leaves (covering the Succah) to drop down (v. מְצוֹבִיתָא).
