פְּלִיאָה, hidden thing, secret; miracle. Y. Ḥag. III, 77ᶜ top (fr. Ben Sira) פ׳ ממך מה תדע why wilt thou attempt to know what is hidden from thee? (v. מוּפְלָא). Midr. Till. to Ps. CXIX, 18 (ref. to Ps. CXXXIX, 6) פ׳ זו התוֹרה ‘the secret’, that means the Law. Num. R. s. 10 (ref. to פלאי, Jud. XIII, 18) לפי פ׳ ופ׳ וכ׳ according to each miracle that he (the Lord) performs through us (angels), he names us.
