פִּיקָא ² פִּיקָא ², (פוק) = b. h. פּוּקָה, gliding, sinking. Sabb. 147ᵇ משום פ׳ on account of sinking in the clay-soil (פִּילוֹמָא, which makes walking a labor; Rashi: he might stain his garments when sinking in the muddy soil, and then wring them out).—Tosef. ib. VII (VIII), 21 מבעיתין לעוית ולפ׳ וכ׳ (Var. ולפוקה) you may shock a person in convulsions, or in an attack of vertigo, and it is not forbidden as a superstitious practice, v. אֱמוֹרִי.—Yalk. Esth. 1054 מכניסין פ׳ בממונו וכ׳ they (the Jews) cause a sinking (decline) in the wealth of the world (Esth. R. to III, 8 פַּחַת).—Snh. 111ᵇ (ref. to פקו, Is.
