IV, 4 (in a short prayer prescribed for one passing an unsafe road) … בכל פ׳ הע׳ לפניך let their needs be before thee at every critical period, expl. ib. 29ᵇ אפי׳ … ע̇ב̇ר̇ה כאשה עו̇ב̇ר̇ת וכ׳ even at a moment when thou art full of swelling anger at them, like a woman big with child &c.; (anoth. explan.) אפי׳ … ע̇יב̇ר̇ים על דברי תורה even at a moment when they trespass the words of the Law; Y. ib. Keth. 112ᵃ ממנה ע׳ וכ׳ from this field I have my breadstuff, from it my peas &c. —4) pregnancy, conception. Gen. R. s. 20 (ref. to Gen. III, 16) עצבונך זה צער הע׳ ‘thy pain’ refers to the suffering attending upon conception, v. עִידּוּי; Erub. 100ᵇ והרונך זה צער הע׳ ‘and thy pregnancy’ refers to &c.; Ab. d’R. N. ch. I. Gen. R. s. 51Gen. R. s. 51, end (play on עברתו, Jer. XLVIII, 30) מתחילת עִיבּוּרוֹ וכ׳ from the time when Moab was first conceived. Gen. R. s. 38, end שנה לעִיבּוּרָהּ של וכ׳ deduct one year for the pregnancy with Milkah &c. Ib. s. 45, beg. (expl. מכרה, Prov. XXXI, 10) עִיבּוּרָהּ her going with child (with allusion to מכרתיך, Ez.
