סְכוֹם, (סָכַם; cmp. חֶשְׁבּוֹן) fixed number, amount, sum total. Ex. R. s. 1 הס׳ שלהן their fixed number (daily rate of bricks). Ib. אין אתם משלימין הס׳ וכ׳ you will be unable to finish your task. Yalk. Gen. 130 (expl. נקבה, Gen. XXX, 28) ס׳ קבוע פרוש define a fixed amount (v. סְכַם). Tosef. Bets. III, 7 ס׳ מנין the sum total of the amount of things (received on credit); ס׳ ממכר the total amount of the value of his purchases; Bets. 29ᵇ ס׳ מדה; ס׳ מקח (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 5).
