    Pa. - סַיֵּים 1) same, esp. same, esp. to put on shoes (cmp. Ez. XXIV, 17). Gitt. l. c. בעא למְסַיְּימָא וכ׳ he wanted to put on the other shoe. Taan. 12ᵇ דמסַיְּימֵי מסנייהו וכ׳ that they wear their shoes and come to the fast-meeting. Ib. כי מסיימי וכ׳, v. אַפַּנְתָּא; a. e. —2) to mark, define. Y. Sabb. VI, 8ᶜ bot. סַיְּימוּן וכן וכ׳ they marked (the time), and so it was.—Part. pass. מְסַיַּים. B. Bath. 100ᵃ דמְסיְּימָן מחיצתא when the partitions are distinctly defined; a. e. —3) to finish. Targ. Y.     Ithpa. - אִסְתַּיֵּים 1) to be marked, named. Ab. Zar. 16ᵇ, a. e. מינאי ומינך תִּסְתַּיֵּים שמעתתא this tradition will be named from myself and from thee. —2) to be concluded, proved. Sabb. 31ᵇ תסתיים דר׳ וכ׳ it can be conclusively proved that it was R. … who said &c.; תסתיים it is proved.
