סוּט, (יָסַט) (b. h. שׂוּט) to move about, be unsteady, v. סָטָה. Hif. - הֵסִיט, הִסִּיטto shake; to swing (v. הֶיסֵּט), contrad. to נגע to touch directly. Zab. V, 1 המַסִּיט את הזב או שהזב מַסִּיטוֹ he who moves a zab (v. זָב) (by shaking the board on which he stands) or whom the zab moves. Ḥull. 124ᵇ והִסִּיטָן and shook them; a. fr.—[Ex. R. s. 23; Lev. R. s. 11; ib. s. 16 הסיטן, read הטיסן, v. טוּס h.] Nif. - נִיסּוֹטto be shaken, moved. Tosef. Zab. IV, 6 אם היו נִיסּוֹטִין if they moved (on account of his rapping, and did not merely vibrate). Tosef. Toh. X, 8 [read:] ובלבד שלא יהו ניסוטין וכ׳ provided they are not shaken up by the vibrations of the partition.
