נָצַץ, (נוּץ) (b. h.; cmp. צוּץ) to sparkle, blossom. Erub. 54ᵃ נוֹצְצִין, v. הָלָה.
    Hif. - הֵנֵץ 1) to sparkle. Y. Ber. I, 2ᶜ עד שתָּנֵץ החמה; Gen. R. s. 50, a. e. (Pes. 93ᵇ עד הנץ), v. הָנֵץ. —2) to blossom, sprout. Shebi. IV, 10 משיָנֵצּוּ; Pes. 53ᵃ משיָנֵיצּוּ (or משיָנִיצוּ) as soon as they blossom (expl. Y. Shebi. IV, end, 35ᶜ משהכניסו רובע, v. נֵץ). B. Bath. 147ᵃ בשעה שיניצו (Ms. M. שהֵנֵיצּוּ) when they are in blossom. Koh. R. to XII, 5, v. צוּץ; a. fr.—2) to cause to sprout. Gen. R. s. 28 מֵנֵיץ Ar. (ed. מציץ), v. צוּץ.
    Pilp. - נִצְנֵץ 1) to sparkle, be enkindled. Gen. R. s. 84 נִיצְנְצָה בו רוה"ק the spirit of prophecy was enkindled within him; Cant. R. to I, 12. Midr. Till. to Ps. XC, end, נ׳ עליו מזיו וכ׳ a ray of the Divine Glory shone upon him, v. זָהַר. —2) to sprout, grow. Cant. R. to VI, 10 מְנַצְנֶצֶת ובאה spreads wider and wider; (Midr. Till. to Ps. XXII מנפצת).
