נוֹפֶת f. (b. h. נֹפֶת; denom. of נָפָה) 1) sifted flour, flour-dust; 2) the net-like honey, honey-comb. Sot. IX, 12 בטל … ונ׳ צופים the shamir ceased and the nofeth tsufim; ib. 48ᵇ מאי נ׳ צ׳ סולת שצפה ע"ג נפה what is meant by n. ts.? Fine flour which floats on (sticks to) the top of the sieve; (anoth. explan.) שתי ככרות וכ׳ two loaves stuck to opposite walls of the oven, which rise so that they touch each other; (anoth. explan.) דבש הבא מן הצופים Rashi (ed. מן הציפיא) honey which comes from Tzofim (v. צוֹפִים); Y. ib.
