מְלַוִּויתָא, (לְוֵי) funeral escort, wailing ceremonies. Midr. Till. to Ps. CIV, 26 (play on לויתן זה, ib.) זה טובוי מן הדא מ׳ this (the reward of the hereafter) does him more good than that funeral service (with its eulogies, Koh. XII, 5; ed. Bub. טיבוי מן ואת מלוותא; Yalk. Ps. 862 זה טיביו מן דאת מְלַוִּיתֵי׳ (corr. acc.).
