מִלְוָה, (לָוָה) loan, debt. Keth. IX, 2 והיה לו פקדון או מ׳ וכ׳ and left a trust or a loan in the hands of strangers. Ib. 84ᵃ מ׳ להוצאה ניתנה a loan is made to be spent (opp. to trust). Kidd. 6ᵇ, a. e. המקדש במ׳ וכ׳ if one betroths a woman to himself by remitting her indebtedness to him, she is not betrothed (there being no consideration offered to her at the time); בהנאת מ׳ offering as a consideration the benefit of the loan (by extension).
