  1. כַּלְבּוּס, (enlarg. of כלב, v. כַּלְבָּה 2)
  2. כַּלְבּוּס, tongs, pinchers, Sot. 19ᵇ כ׳ של ברזל (Alf. ק׳) iron tongs (to force her mouth open; Tosef. ib. II, 3 צבת). Tosef. Kel. B. Mets. III, 11 some ed., v. כַּלְבָּה. Men. 63ᵃ כמין כ׳ עמוק (Ar. כיל׳) a baking form in the shape of forceps with cavities (which clapped together give the dough the shape of an apple &c.).
  3. כַּלְבּוּס, (v. כָּלַב) shape of cross-stitches, zigzag of nails in the sole. Sabb. 60ᵇ עשאו כמין כ׳ (Ms. M. כלכוס, Alf. ק׳) if he drove the nails in in the shape of &c. Koh. R. to XII, 11 הכ׳ אינו וכ׳, v. כַּלֶּבֶת.—[B. Kam. 100ᵇ כ׳, v. כַּלְכּוּס.—Tanḥ. Balak 13, read: כָּלִינוֹס.]
