כִּיתָּנִיתָא, collect. noun (preced. wds.) washed linen clothes, underwear. Sabb. 140ᵃ כסכוסי כ׳ ed. (Or Zar. Sabb., end כיתונא, R. H. quot. ib. כִּתַּנְיָאתָא pl., Ms. M. כִּיתְוַונְיָיתָא, pl. of כִּיתּוּנִיתָא; Alf. a. Ash. כִּיתּוּנְתָּא, כִּתּוּ׳) to rub the starch out of linen underwear; לרכוכי כ׳ וכ׳ he intends only to soften the linen &c. Ib. bot. האי כ׳ וכ׳ (Or Zer. l. c. a. Ash. כיתונא, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. for Var. lect.). Y. Snh. II, 20ᶜ bot. אותניתיה read: כִּיתָּנִיתֵיה (= חלוקא דכיתנא ib.) his linen garments.
