יַשְׁרוּת, (v. יוֹשֶׁר a. יָשָׁר)firmness, faith, right conduct, equity. Y. Meg. I, 72ᶜ top (ref. to Deut. XII, 8, cmp. יָשָׁר) ומה תעשו שם דבר שהוא בא לידי י׳ וכ׳ and what dare you do there (on the bamah)? An act by which one is led towards faith, which is burnt-offerings and peace-offerings. Midr. Till. to Ps. XCIX, 4 (ref. to מישרים ib.) אתה כוננת י׳ של עולם (ed. Bub. י׳ בעולמך) thou hast established the firmness of thy world (through courts of justice); Yalk. Ps. 852 י׳ בעולמך.—Gen.
