יְכוֹלֶת, power, ability. Num. R. s. 16 מפני שלא היה לו י׳ להספיק וכ׳ (not להוסיף) because he had no power to sustain him, אין לשון י׳ אלא מזונות the word י׳ refers to sustenance (ref. to מכלת, I Kings V, 25, cmp. כִּלְכֵּל).
