טְרִיפָה f. (טָרַף) 1) tearing (by beasts of prey). B. Kam. 16ᵇ למימרא דט׳ לאו וכ׳ (some ed. דטריפא, Ms. M. דטָרַף, ref. to the preceding טרף ואכל) does that mean to say that tearing is not his (the lion’s) habit? —2) being carried away by waves, being cast ashore.
